There's some discussion at the village pump that 'nstead of filter: invert( 1 ) an invert of 0.9' might be better. I like how Twitter has 'Dim' and then 'Lights out' modes, for example-and even in the latter the text is not pure white, but rgba(217,217,217,1.00). I have astigmatism, and didn't realise this was why pure-black backgrounds make (pure-)white text fuzzy for me. Had to turn off the gadget after only a minute or so of use because it was quite uncomfortable to read.
